Unveiled in CES 2025, Switchbot's K20+ Pro is a real multi-tasking robot that will help you not just clean your homes but secure them with a camera, organizing the rooms with a robotic arm, delivering stuff from one room to another, cooling your room with a fan, patrolling the home, taking selfies, purifying the air, and opening/closing the curtains.
The competition for being the first choice for smart home robot users is increasing day by day with companies like iRobot, Roborock, Switchbot and many more coming up with new features frequently. Yesterday, we read about Roborock’s Saros vacuum cleaning robot which has got a helping hand, today let us show you a new smart home robot which has got many helping hands 🙂 in terms of modules.
Yes, we are referring to the latest smart home robot vacuum cleaner unveiled by Switchbot in CES 2025. Switchbot introduced it’s K20+ Pro – a new vacuum robot designed to make home automation simpler. Switchbot is popular for many smart home gadgets including the robot finger that presses the button via an app, , smart curtains, floor cleaning robots, smart locks and many more similar gadgets.
The K20+ Pro is more than just a smart vacuum cleaning robot. This new smart vacuum cleaning robot comes with an additional wheeled base named ‘Fusion Platform,’. Fusion Platform is like a circular platform that is fit or attached on the vacuum cleaner. With a diameter of 25 cm this autonomous vacuum cleaning robot can navigate around your home using lidar technology to map the space.
What makes K20+ Pro different is it’s Fusion Platform’s modular design which will allow users to attach various smart devices to it including an air purifier, tablet stand, security camera, or a charging dock. It has multiple power ports, including USB-C, which support third-party devices like speakers, UV sterilization lamps, and car fridges.
Switchbot also announced planning to make this robot vacuum cleaner compatible with 3D-printed components as well as 3rd party components to add more functionality.
While these are the uses that Switchbot has suggested, but we know that these robots can now be used a lot more, especially to deliver small stuff from one room to another as we increase our dependency on smart gadgets. It can quickly deliver small items within the house, functioning like a mobile cart.
With a maximum payload of 8 kg, Switchbot is also planning to feature a robotic arm on K20+ pro to help pick up items. While all in all, it looks really promising and would be helpful in many ways, we were able to a a few limitations like being unable to climb stairs, and that switching different modules with require some manual effort.
Set to launch in mid-2025, the K20+ Pro will be available in different kits, such as the Air Flow Kit and Omni Clean Kit. If you’re looking for a versatile and practical vacuum robot, the K20+ Pro could be a great option.
